Missions Committee Mission Statement:
Our mission is to support efforts to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ across nations and neighborhoods, to extend His love through compassionate service, and to increase congregational participation in missions activities.
Operational Outline
With God's help, we seek to carry out this Mission Statement through four key areas of emphasis in our Missions Committee.
1. Foreign Gospel Missions
- Support for EPC missionaries
- Support for Operation Christmas Child
2. Domestic Gospel Missions
- Support for (preferably) Reformed, Christ-Centered para-church organizations
- Support and participation (when possible) in New Church Plants
- Support for EPC Evangelism Efforts
3. "Good Samaritan" Works
-Support local "helps" efforts, i.e., Blood drives, food pantries, etc., while seeking to find a way to point people to Jesus through these efforts.
-Support and participate in disaster relief efforts as a representative of the EPC and our local church.
4. Congregational Awareness
-Develop creative methods to keep the importance and effectiveness of EPC mission efforts before the congregation.
-Sponsor EPC missionary speakers.
-Have tri-annual missions events for the congregation (suppers featuring foods from areas where missionaries are working, encouraging the reading of missionary field accounts, etc.).
